Thank you for raising me.

Thank you for the many times you told me,

Thank you for waking up in the middle of the night to care for me- when I was sick.

Thank you for walking me to school- when I was young.

Thank you for the many times you tucked me in and said,

“Que Sueñes con los Angelitos.”

Thank you for protecting me;

even when I thought you were being overprotective.

Thank you for teaching me about a higher spiritual power.

Thank you for never judging me and for always believing in me.

Thank you for the many compliments.

Thank you for buying me my first and second guitar;

playing music has become a life passion.

Thank you for never criticizing me;

it’s made me a confident person.

Thank you for the trips to our homeland,

to share time with the family.

Thank you for your humor, and smile.

Thank you for always managing your limited income.

Thank you for providing above and beyond my immediate needs.

Thank you for being the first caller on my birthdays.

Thank you for never holding a grudge against me.

Thank you for the many phone calls.

so I could learn about forgiveness.

Thank you for teaching me how to love myself

and for your daily prayers for me.
